02 — The Cloth
A weave takes eleven days.
We begin with the loom, not the sketch. A bolt of mulmul is chosen for how it falls when a woman turns; a border is set only after the drape has been tested on a body, not a mannequin. Nothing here is finished by a machine that cannot feel the cloth.
